The valley (Koilada) is a small beautiful fishing village, on the coast of the Argolic Gulf, a short distance from Kranidi and close to Ermioni. It has a large fishing port which is the main source of income for the area. Most of the village’s inhabitants are professional fishermen. They are also involved in shipping, building wooden fishing and tourist boats in their two shipyards, supplying almost all of Greece.

Opposite the village is the green island of Koronis, which protects its harbour from the northern winds.

The area is famous for the Franchthi cave with important archaeological findings.

Just outside the valley you will find many beaches ideal for swimming and suitable for recreational fishing, while the area is also ideal for camping.
