Since 2014, in the community of Didyma, the “Potato Festival” has been established, which takes place every year in August in the courtyard of the Folklore Centre of Didyma, offering joy and fun to locals and visitors of Ermionida, who participate in this beautiful celebration. The potato, which has been cultivated for about 100 years in the beautiful village of Didyma, is an important occupation for its inhabitants. Hundreds of kilos of potatoes are peeled in the houses of the volunteers of the Folklore Museum to accompany the famous roast, which is slowly baked on huge baking sheets in the village oven. The volunteer women of Didyma, with a hospitable attitude, prepare savoury and sweet dishes with the potato as the main ingredient and a unique motto:
“Come and have fun and dance with live music”
